Director of Research Communication

Dr. Herdt’s research experience includes biochemistry, biological chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, and nanotechnology. At Genentech, she worked in a pharmaceutical lab devoted to designing and testing protein and antibody therapeutics for cancer treatment; and while at Mayo Clinic her research was focused on therapeutic development for neurodegenerative diseases.

In her role as the Director of Research Communications, Dr. Herdt taps into her own research experience to provide support to the preclinical and clinical scientists and physicians at MANA. She participates actively in project planning and data analysis, research presentation, and project management. Dr. Herdt also collaborates with research staff to compose, edit and submit research grants, publications and development materials. Although her role is primarily administrative, she is an integral part of the development of research at MANA.
